Our Mission & Purpose

The purpose of The Jenney Grist Mill is to educate students, visitors and the community of the economic, historic and agricultural significance of the 1636 mill.

As a living history museum, our mission is to tell the story of Pilgrim John Jenney and his journey to America. How and why John Jenney built the mill, and it's importance to the survival of the Pilgrims must also be told. The Jenney Grist Mill was the beginning of industry in our country and had a profound impact on the development of Plymouth and our nation.

The Jenney Grist Mill depends on support from admissions, memberships and donations. Your tax-deductible cash donation, a gift in kind, or bequest will help The Jenney Grist Mill bring to life the 17th century to people from all over the world.
