Annual Herring Run

Now is the time to see the river herring make their way up Town Brook to spawn in Billington Sea. Come watch thousands swim their way up Town Brook to the fish ladder at the Grist Mill. The new fish ladder and viewing stand are complete and the river will be full of fish, especially during April school vacation! Take a tour of the Grist Mill and rediscover an important part of our country's history. A fun and educational place to visit. School vacation special....buy one child ticket get one adult ticket FREE! April 19th through Sunday April 27th.

Homeschooler's Day's

Designed for the Christian family.  Discover how the faith of the Pilgrim's helped to form our country. In this day of seperation of church and state Christians can be encouraged by the faith and hope of the Pilgrim's and the Providence of God in their lives.  Learn how biblical principals guided their lives from self rule to their economic system.

Come celebrate the arrival of spring. See thousands of river herring making their way up from the ocean by the Mill to the fish ladder on the way to spawn in Billington Sea. (This amazing event happens every April and continues til late May) 

Every family that tours the Mill will recieve a poster depicting "The life cycle of the Herring". Reservations are requested for this event. Tours run every half hour.  Register by phone or email and save $1.00 of every ticket!

Junior Level Girl Scout Programs

"Local Lore" badge program. Each scout will fulfill the requirements upon completion of the program and receive a certificate for their badge.

"Science Slueth" badge program. Bring your troop for a visit to the Grist Mill  and they can complete one requirement for the - "What is a Simple Machine?"

Available Year Round

Brownie Badge Program

"Listening to the Past" badge.  Leaders....bring your troop for a visit to the Grist Mill and complete this badge.  Two hour workshops available. Call to reserve a time or for more information. Admission

Christian Tours

God and the Pilgrims

Learn how their covenant relationship with God influenced the everyday life of the Pilgrims and how they used their gifts for the benefit of the community. This tour is great for youth groups, homeschoolers, church groups and any Christian schools or organizations. These tours are offered at the Grist Mill or at your church.  Tours of the Forefather's Monument are offered daily also. Call for information.
